to HelloShawn@ShawnSmith.com! For booking
information, see the services and
bookings pages. See the Contact page for other means of reaching Shawn.
| Every track on every album is offered full
length in Real Audio G2 format. Coded to stream to your computer over a 28.8
connection, these files offer darn reasonable quality without the long wait associated
with "WAV" files. To download the free G2 player, click on the G2 icon to
the right. G2 tracks will not play on RealAudio V5. |

We still provide several audio clips in "radio" quality. Radio quality
is 22Khz, 8 bit mono. The next step down (11Hkz, 8 bit mono) is half the size of
radio quality and loses some dynamic range: we use that for longer clips. For
comparison, a "CD" quality clip (44Khz 16 bit stereo) is 10 times the size of
radio quality!
A ten second, radio quality audio clip takes about 2
minutes to download with a 28.8 modem--before you get to hear a note...
We also use some MIDI files. MIDI is a computer music notation that instructs a
synthesizer how to "play" a song. No vocals. A 30 second MIDI
selection can be as small as 2K in size. Unfortunately, MIDI cannot convey
"Shawn".
MP3 clips are coming soon....

Music is wonderful: you can have as many key changes as you'd like and never need a
locksmith. The chords for the two lower keys of "I Will Call Upon the
Lord" are here.
Check the Itinerary page to see where Shawn is currently
booked. Generally, his calendar is updated weekly (by Wednesday morning).
Okay--let's say Shawn isn't appearing close enough for you to attend an event. All
is not lost! You may not realize that Shawn's appearances are by
invitation: perhaps you can arrange to have Shawn invited, either personally, or by
building enthusiasm in your group. It is probably easier than you think. Check
out the Services and Bookings pages
for more information.
The bulk of the pictures go into the tour book
-- from there you can follow the chronological links.
You still can't find the pictures? It is a lot harder than it
seems to get pictures from Shawn's tour onto the website:
- Shawn has to have enough spare time in his travels so that he can get the
pictures on his computer.
- Each picture has to be reviewed...something that requires several passes
through sometimes hundreds of shots.
- Shawn hand picks as many as 30 prime shots.
- These get packaged and transmitted to the webmaster while Shawn sends off an
email containing names and comments.
Getting pictures onto the website is very important to Shawn...
Dru Kepple toured with Shawn both as part of Shawn and His Friends and later
as Shawn's friend, "band", sound man and general right hand man... Dru is
on a different road now, married and "keeping himself busy": he's church
organist at Alpha Lutheran Church in Turtle Creek, PA and gives guitar lessons in the
Monroeville, PA area. He also leads a youth band at Beulah Presbyterian Church in
Churchill, PA. (Whew). You can E-Mail Dru at dru@EireneMusic.com
Shawn's music ministry started with a band called Project
G.O.D. and the band formed Project G.O.D. Ministries as their "business
identity". These days, Shawn is the only artist still part of
Project G.O.D. Check out the Project G.O.D.
page for a short history of the original band...and be sure to get a copy
of their fantastic music!
We will try and answer all questions...but perhaps not in this FAQ.
